Progress will be posted on this thread. So far I have: Key: +: 100% completed. +/-: in development (something already done, but not finished) -: not even started, but planning to do X: not planning to do/planning to do on a second version/premium version Stage 1: + (Name: The Marathon begins) Stage 2: + (Name: Now it starts heating up...) Stage 3: + (Name: The 911 Prank Call) Stage 4: + (Name: The Hammerhead) Stage 5: +/- (Name: Hauled to Hot Hell) Stage 6: -Stage 7: -Stage 8: -Stage 9: -Stage 10: -Stage 11: -Cars: +/- (Note: color hack/minor modifications to original cars in v1, possibility of real car models for v2) Images: - (Note: things that fiddle with Java hacking fall into the category below) Java hacking: +/- (Note: most credit here goes to InhumanPwnage who gave me his ContO file with hacked piece limit for cars, my Hell Hauler thanks you IP, you gave him his wheel back! ) Music: + (Replacing NFM 1 music with NFM 2 music. Many thanks to InhumanPwnage and sinthujanu02 for finding the NFM 2 music files ) Stay tuned for more information ~WhyFiCarbon And as a bonus: Stage 1:

| Hmm... I can help you with car hacking, and car names, but not other Java.
If you want to hack cars go to my signature below that says how to make NFM cars and read the first post.
If you want to hack car names, ask someone, like adverts. |

| Thanks, I appreciate, but like I said on my post, the problem is not learning the codes for the car parts and stats, the problem is really designing something that looks cool and is not just a pile of car pieces with wheels. D: |

| It takes time to practice making cool cars. So keep going. I also are not good at tracks, but Im still learning.
If you want to have simple java done, please ask me. If you want Netbeans running, view my tutorial. If you want masses of java done, ask 618, although ask me first; 618 gets annoyed at times. If you want cars, ask nfmhacker1, he can show you the way. |

| Look, it seems that you have some lack of confidence in making cars. Don't worry. Just experiment. Just because you can't do arts or whatever doesn't mean you can't make good cars. The best thing to do is base your cars on a sort of model. Say, look for a model of a car in your house, preferably a large one that you like, and try to make it. It doesn't have to be very detailed, as long as it resembles the car and looks realistic then it's fine. If you learn the codes and know how to apply them, doesn't matter whether what you make is good or not, you know how to hack/make cars!
Also, if at this stage you aren't too adept at making cars, why not just colour hack them? It's what many other people do with their cars and it's better than doing nothing. Once you get some practice into making cars then you really should think about putting them in your version. |

| I have never tried this before, but first make a box car. Then add some features. Then add more features. Then if you start feeling comfortable, start trying to carve it out. |

| Stage 2 COMPLETED! Another important notice: since it's obvious most of the community want to see new or at least color-hacked cars, I'm changing the status of cars to RED MINUS (-), with a special note in front. |

| I'd make the sky a lighter shade of purple, other than that, it looks good. |

| That stage is quite OK. I'm glad you took my suggestion for colour hacking the cars and will do so, good job! |

| Stage 3 COMPLETED! This one took more time to complete, it's also the biggest track I've ever made, probably my prime track (at least until now). The 911 thing is because I'll replace Lead Oxide with a Porsche 911 police car: the 911 is both the Porsche's model and the emergency phone number for the USA, so it has double meaning. Therefore, the upper part of the track is shaped like a 911 number which Police Porsche will course through, and then there's the return stretch, when Police Porsche discovers the 911 call was a prank and heads back to the beginning. And he's not pleased. NOT AT ALL. D: Pictures: Another important notice: since InhumanPwnage and sinthujanu02 discovered the NFM 2 music files, I'm replacing the NFM 1 music with the NFM 2 files on my Need For Carbon. |

So you know how to hack cars yet? |

| I would have thought it would be 1 lap from the little story behind it, but looking at the screenshots, it says 9 laps. How many laps actually is it? |

| Stage 4 COMPLETED!And not only Stage 4... people who were in the chatbox the last few days already know what I've been doing... Stage 4 screenshots: Now as for the rest--- WAIT WHAAAAAAAT??? I SEE SOMETHING IN THAT LAST PICTURE! Yeah, that's my not-so-secret project that I started to do. Since I found that making real-world cars is too difficult for the beginning stage I'm in, I'll start v1 by using modified original cars. I'll present them here, but NOTICE THAT ALL THESE ARE STILL IN BETA AND THUS HAVE THINGS THAT WILL BE ADDED AND ERRORS THAT WILL BE FIXED IN THE MEANTIME. This is Crabster Racer LVC-1, La Vite Crab's replacement. It has a white and red race car color scheme, with an added stripe on the middle. The middle stripe has clipping/transparency issues on certain angles, I'll have to go around those issues by either applying gr(40)'s on the pieces or by splitting the hood into three parts, the stripe being one of them. This is a police-themed Lead Oxide for use in Stage 3 (because of the theme mentioned above). Yes, those are SoJ's police lights. Unfortunately, they also have clipping/transparency issues, will also get to them soon. My masterpiece of the moment, the unfinished Hell Hauler is EL KING's replacement. I say unfinished because I plan on adding a flame pattern on the container and some spikes on it too, probably on the front of the cabin too. The bottom piece has clipping/transparency issues but I'll leave it alone since it isn't visible in normal gameplay. This one really took me a while since it went over the piece limit and I had to ask InhumanPwnage for help, he eventually gave me his hacked ContO since I couldn't hack it myself. All hail the almighty IP (he'll appear in the credits). dandan also gave me some important help in telling me to use ClassEditor to edit the names. Credit to him too. Regarding the track, I think I went past the track limit on this one, so that's why it looks unfinished, but since it's a one-lapper, I found a way to work around it and finish it in another fun way. The track splits don't work as they should for AI, but meh, screw the AI. That's it for now, stay tuned for more NFC! |

| Woah, massive post but AWESOME TRACK! I think that you'll turn out to be a great track maker, it seems all of your tracks so far are of the highest standard. As for the cars, nice job modifying them, it's still a step forward even if you're not making cars from scratch yet. |

[O-T] I told you the police lights work in-game!!! xD [/O-T] Twisty roads? You mean the splits? Well, I looked in NFM 2 Stage 6's code, it has splits there. It's basically set 13 and 12 with 30/-30 degree angles and measuring 5630 x and 1520 y. Still, the big problem is that the AI is not perfect, and in that part they can only follow one path, which I set to be the middle one, because of the fix ring. About the police lights, they still have transparency issues, and I'm working on them right now. Thank you for all the comments, ~WhyFiCarbon signing out. |
