PostSubject: International Madness Association (IMA)   Wed 25 Nov 2015, 10:46 pm

Hello everyone. Welcome to the International Madness Association!

How does this work?

  • There will be 10 teams in total.
  • Each team will consist of 5 players (three main players, and two back-up players).
  • The time limit for each war will be 20 minutes.
  • If tied at the end of regulation, there will be an overtime. Each overtime is 5 minutes.
  • There are two conferences, North America, and Intercontinental. To be a team leader in North America, you must be residing there, and vice versa for Intercontinental.
  • When the season finishes, there will be an off season. You will be able to set up your team before the next season starts.
  • During the off season, there will also be something called "free agency." These are players that are looking to be recruited. The testing system is for the team leader to decide.
  • Each team will consist of a record, or ratio.
  • Your record/ratio will determine if you move onto the next round (playoffs).
  • If your team is inactive, you will have 5 days to complete ALL of your scheduled wars, if not, you will automatically be knocked off.
  • The first round consists of 15 wars.
  • Only 8 teams will be moved onto the playoffs (four from each conference)!
  • In the playoffs/conference final/final, each team will be put up against the team that is chosen for them. However, during these events there will be four wars played in total. The team with the most wars won will take the victory.

How do I enter my team into this?

Please fill out the codebox below.

Schedule

No matches are going to be held at the moment.

Stages

Each team will have a choice of whatever stage they want. Custom stages will also be allowed, however; they must not have more than two fixes, does not encourage AB abuse, must be friendly to both racing and wasting, can not have excessive amounts of a particular ramp, and must be easy to remember. Roller coaster pieces are fine, as long as they aren't too punishing.

Point System

In relevance to racing games; 1st place is 10 points, 2nd place is 8 points, 3rd place is 6 points, 4th is 4 points, 5th is 2 points, 6th is 0 points.

In relevance to the wasting games; for one waste, the team will receive 6 point, for two wastes, the team will receive 12 points, for three wastes, the team will receive 18 points.

In relevance to both games; for every lap a racer completes, that's 1 point given to the team. For example, Twisted Revenge, 10 laps, if you finish all 10, your team gets 10 points. When wasting in a both game, for every waste you get on the other team that's 1 point given to your team. For example, if you get two wastes, your team will receive 2 points, and so on.

This was solely created to have actual teamwork in NFMM, and not have one person do the job for you. Remember to have fun, and do your best. If you have any questions, please PM Iridescent. Let the madness begin!

Here is a both stage I would like to donate:

Peaceful Oceans

Layout: http://prntscr.com/5knxmg

Gameplay: http://prntscr.com/5knxyx

I've published this on NFMM as public. Both-oriented, 4 laps.

EDIT: See that split road? I put the checkpoint further for a shortcut (placed near the ramp on the end of the split dirt road, if you know what I mean).

What exactly is a pickup? Also, can you please simplify what happens in each round?

It's just like a war, except it doesn't go up to 5 points. The team with the most points after the given time is up wins. Read the topic thoroughly before asking questions.

Okay. Also, I have a few followup questions:

How will teams be sorted into conferences? (5-5, 4-6, what?)

How are the pickups decided?

Is it 15 pickups per team, per conference, or total for both?

How are the playoffs going to work? You said 4 pickups total, but it's 3 rounds.

A pick-up is basically a practice war. People will form 2 teams and discuss who participates in each game. It uses the same system as a regular way, as the first team to gain 5 points win.

As for this event, it's similar to that, but there's a point system and it's timed. In racing games, the point system is 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 0 in order of 1st place to 6th place (there's only 6 players during the whole event). In wasting games, 3 kills on 1 team gets you 4 points, 2 kills gets you 2 points, and 1 kill gets you 1 point. In both games, both systems are incorporated for both wasters & racers.

How do we decide which game/custom stages will be played?

I would also like to offer this both stage (Dizzy Desert): http://prntscr.com/971kvw

I would also like to offer this racing stage (Luna Park): http://prntscr.com/971l60 (basically the same things on both sides)

I will also attempt to make a wasting stage that could be used in the tournament.

The topic is officially finished! If you want to submit a team, you still have time! A reward for the winner of the IMA is currently being discussed.

Oops, thanks for the correction. As for possible dates, I am planning to start this in 2016, when everyone starts to become active, and exams are over. Thoughts?

Sorry about that. You see, I abandoned NFMM for a while, and I forgot my old AIM password, and I sent out an email, but my mom, who has the email, didn't say anything about getting it, so I created the other account, but as it turns out one computer at home has the password for the account. I'm good now, so you can shut down the other account. Also, you don't have to tell IP. I already did.
