| As you all may know, trolls on NFMM have been quite a prominent issue since day 1, and evidently nothing has been done about it as the game is poorly developed. However, me and Demise have discussed this matter about independently discriminating these people without Omar's permission as it is quite clear - he does nothing about it. To keep this situation 100% fair, we have agreed on creating a poll to get as many opinions as possible just to get a collective opinion. Simple yes or no answer, if you already know the context; cast your vote. http://www.strawpoll.me/14820398/ If you don't know the context, here's a summary of what gator or any of the current NFMM trolls do:
- spam
- exploit glitches such as joining private games
- act toxic & hostile to the community both inside games and out
- just being an asshole tbf what else
Yeah this might be a waste of time talking about but just to keep democracy going lets see what you all think. |

| I agree with your statement, all we do is to constantly threaten Gator. Yesterday Gator and Noname97 teamed up and accused me of hacking despite what I'm using is recharged Phy addons. |

| Majority counts, but everyone paid for the game and have the right to play - just my 2 cents. Every gamer has the fair amount of rights to play the game, although negative means of exploiting is not encouraged. I'm standing neutral but have cast my vote. |

| For people who weren't following the discussion, a little background: A couple users of the game have figured out a way to "ban" other players. The "ban" prevents the banned player(s) from doing any damage to other cars, or from being able to hit/make contact with other cars, making it impossible to waste and much harder to race. Probably a better title would be "Banning NFMM Trolls," but that's the gist of it. It was agreed to use a vote system so that the community could decide if a certain player would be eligible for a ban. A couple things which I thought were important for this to work fairly: - A set of standards for bannable offenses
- A vote to ban players who violate these rules
What exactly the set of rules are, and what qualifies a "majority" vote (51%? 80%?), should be ironed out, as well as what determines the duration of the ban. Since this concerns taking away someone else's ability to play the game that they payed for, personally I believe a "ban" should be given only for serious, extreme abuse of the game. Some thoughts: - Continued blatant, disruptive hacking (1 week - 4 months)
- Constant glitching into private games and wars (1 day - 3 weeks)
- Misuse of invincible custom cars (3 days - 1 week)
- Continued, excessive spam/flooding of the lobby and in-game chats (1 day - 2 weeks)
The main disagreement point is whether or not a player should be able to be banned for being a d ick, or being hostile and insulting. Personally, I think this is too subjective to be a standard for banning, since it allows the community to ban someone for being unpopular and disliked. Perhaps a "mute" ban would be more proper in this case, but until that feature is added, it seems very dangerous to include such a rule due to its extreme subjectivity. I don't think speech should be moderated. This is, of course, something that could use more discussion to see where everyone stands. Ideally, kind players would warn and remind those violating the rules numerous times before the one in violation is considered for a ban. Anyway, what's everybody else think? |
