| I have been really confused as to what makes people hate VPNs/Ping Boosters (Such as WTFast). 1/2 of the community lives in the US, (if not more)...Most of us American's would love to get below 170 ms to Avenger servers sometimes. I really wanted to know your positions on this subject. Warframe/Minecraft users encourage these things so that their friends can get better ping. So what is the difference here? (I do understand wars though).
Also don't worry. I do not use any of the above. |

| Wat..
People like long delays because they give them more time to react as they figure out their opponents moves better than those with short delays can and also, long delays are harder to hit, figure out and the guy with a longer delay can dodge much more easily compared to that with a shorter delay.
Coming from a guy who had a long donkey delay once. Now has a medium delay. |

| For the most part, VPN's are used to confuse other players. Since everyone is either "used to" or knows one and another's lag trail (delay) to successfully hit them, which for the most part is why some people use them for the sake of having his/her opponent take longer than usual to land a hit. I personally had used VPN's before only to realize that the advantage was very minimal since you still take the same amount of damage as you would from a regular hit, and it makes everyone else's delay just as long (or longer) as yours so you yourself will have a hard time hitting other players as they would with you so it's a fair playing field.
The only REAL problem do VPN's pose, are mainly in wars. In a non-war situation a player has many games to play with someone who changes their ping/delay, which in-turn gives the others more time to find the person's "new" trail. However, when in war situation, players have at least 1 game (one chance) to win that match. Here, the problem is quite concerning since the opponents have to play search before they destroy which wastes time. |

| People hate VPNs because they can be used to have a gigantic trail, making it a pain to play against you. With long trails you have to predict much further ahead than shorter trails. For example, the opponent could have turned and gone to the other side of the stage, yet maybe you see him coming towards you. This is an extreme example.
All lag trails are double-edged swords. IE, short trails are great because people need to risk serious damage in order to hit you, but bad because they are very predictable and it's easy to hit hard against it. Long trails are great because people need to know exactly how long in order to hit you, but bad because you're making your opponents' lag trails just as long if not longer for yourself.
Play with what you have and enjoy the advantages and disadvantages your unique lag trail brings you. Changing your lag mid-game should pretty much be considered hacking, because figuring out lag trail is one of the key aspects to winning a wasting match. If you change your lag trail, you're getting an unfair advantage.
Also, it is impossible to make your trail shorter with VPNs afaik, since the VPN has to connect back to your PC in the end anyway. |

| One problem I have is not just people using VPN's, but rather their attitude about using VPN's. For one, if you use a VPN, it tells me you're unconfident in your own ability to actually play and are scared to play with your original trail. Though some only use VPN's/hacks for pure entertainment (whilst stopping when they're told), others don't seem to care when or why they use a VPN (no need to name anyone). Sure, it may be fun for them but, it comes at the expense of others who are just trying to have some fun while playing the game the right way. If you can't figure out how to hit someone with your original trail and feel that you have to resort to using a VPN to do well against them, you're no different than someone who shoots his opponent because he can't beat him in an honest sword fight. Sometimes, it seems like people care more about VPN's than actual gameplay. A few of you here are notorious for using VPN's. I agree with Demise. Play real, play honest, and play the game the correct way. |

| I personally Used more VPN's than WTFAST. such as KillPing, Softether, WoW, Cyberghost,Hotspot shield, and Surfeasy. These VPN's just Increase your lag trail on NFMM, dosen't really affect much on low delays. Yes, I stopped using VPN's now. I only use them for Surfing the Web purposes. |
