When a rank is unclaimed, anyone can claim it. However, there will be a limit to how many claims you can make to prevent one person from filling the board.
If a rank is already claimed and you wish to challenge the holder for it, you will go 1 v 1. All matches will be best 2/3. Here's how it will work for cars: for the first match, the holder of the rank will pick the stage. On the second, the challenger will pick the stage. If there's a third, the person winning will choose it. If it's a tie than the holder of the rank will choose it. Clearly, you both must use the car the rank is for. So if it's an F7 rank, both players will use F7.
For track ranks, it's 1 v 1, best 2/3, and the stage will be the stage rank. So if you're fighting for 4D Vertigo rank, you'll play there all 2-3 games. The car doesn't matter if you're challenging for stages. Stage laps cannot be altered.
The holder of the rank can have a "pass" once throughout his rank holding. This means he can deny a challenge, and the denied challenger cannot challenge him for another week.
If a holder has to go on vacation, he needs to email one of the rank administrators. Once he is on vacation, his rank will be marked "reserved" and a new rank for that car/stage will open up. People will ignore the reserved one and challenge and play for the new created substitute in the meantime. Once the holder returns, he will challenge the leader of the substitute rank. After the winner wins, the substitute rank will be deleted.
If you disconnect (excluding "quit" and "wasted" disconnects) more than once, it starts counting as a loss. Obviously, this system is reset for every challenge.
When you win a match, it is your responsibility to snapshot the screen that shows the winner screen and email it to a rank administrator. If you don't do this, no one will know about your match. Search on Google "how to take a snapshot on a computer" if you don't know how.
Respect your rank administrators or you'll be banned from the ranks until the administrator feels you can control yourself.
As far as custom tracks/cars go, ranks will not be created for them unless Omar formally adds a car/track to Multiplayer himself.
Everyone must tell me their online name they go by, or else I won't count anything. No identicals allowed.
Rank holders have the option to put "weekends" after their claim. This means they'll only fight on weekends.
Between same-rank challenges, you are allotted a 1-week cool-down to rest.
You can appeal any of these rules, however I am pretty set about them, so be warned that I will most likely deny your appeal or make a slight adjustment to the rules.
When challenged, the rank holder can decide whether custom cars are banned or whether they're allowed (obviously this applies to Track Ranks only).
After consecutively losing two challenges to a rank holder in one particular rank, you are prohibited from challenging that rank holder for that rank for a week. After that week, if you lose the challenge you are prohibited for 2 weeks. A week is added on for every loss (the rank holder can override this prohibition and challenge the challenger anyway if he wishes).

Make sure you read the rules thoroughly twice or more. Now, currently all the ranks are unclaimed, so I'll allow each person 3 car and 3 track claims. Once they're all claimed, this rule will not apply. Obviously this only applys for unclaimed ranks.

@ rafa, you basically claim a title and then someone has to challenge you for it 1 on 1. If they win they get the title.

Yeah I'm online. Right now though this should be put on halt, because I have a lot of work to do regarding this. I'll pause all challenges regarding this until everyone is familiar.

You get to claim 3 cars and 3 tracks.

In car rankings, you both use a car on different stages. In track rankings, it doesn't matter what car you use but it has to be on a certain track.

They're separate things.
